Mitsubishi Flash connector like this?

Well .. I've tried the base lancer with ECU Flash ..no issues.. and the outlander but strangely .. outlander has this type of plug ..

anyone any ideas ?? it basically has 2 wires going into it .. a purple and a black ..

I want to be able to flash the SUV

sigh .. I always thought car manufacturer tend to keep things simple by making things similar .. I was wrong with Mitsubishi ..
