Sagem S2000 ECU

i'm new to ECUs and have some questions :
How i can communicate with ECU ? is there and standard for that ? how i can interpert informations comes form ecu and how i can send a command like clear error log to it ?
I have a Sagem S2000-10 ECU , How i can connect it to pc ? is there any free program for interpert it's data ? can i get data from port's like COMMPORT by PC and write program for it ? for example get real time RPM
