Hello to all :)

First to say, GREAT FORUM, a lot to read and learn !!!

I've bought the tactrix openport 1.2, great product, works perfect without problems with my Notebook and with my CarPC.Drivers no problem
I can read all parametera in realtime and fast.

Then i try to make a backup up of my ECU to see with some programs how to tune it or with help from You to have a tuned file to strat from.

Auto Turn off, connect the green connectors, turn on (not the engine) and i hear the fan starting, then stop, and strat again....this was for more then 5-6min.Afraid i turn off and disconnect the connectors.

Questions:

Is this normal?
I must wait longer?
I must backup with the fan doing this?

Thank You in Advance to all and sorry for the long post.

Giovanni

ps. I live in Switzerland and have a Subaru WRX 2001 new age (bug eye)

look for a white connector with 4 pins, this is the flash block connector. It should be nearby the green test connectors. Use 2 pieces of wire to jumper pins 1-3 & 2-4. I hope this diagram will make sense.

i have a euro 02 wrx, it seems that using only the green test connectors does not allow reading the ecu.

Good Morning and Happy Easter to all , :)

Thank You for answering, i will try tomorrow with the white connetor jumped,
today is raining and cold :(

Then when backup my ECU the fans must not start like they done?
Or they must start and then stop?

Thank You again

Happy Easter to all

Giovanni

When you connect the green connectors, the ecu will go into Test Mode.

This means it will cycle the fans and fuel pump.

Once you start the dumping procedure it will basically stop the fans and fuel pump from test mode.

At least it does for me :)

+1

As soon as ecuFlash starts "copying" the fans and fuel pump stop cycling... totally normal and nothing to be worried about imo :)
