No, unless they 'unlock' it for you. EcuTek change the method used to upload and run the reflashing kernel, locking ECUFlash users out. There are several users on this forum who can unlock these ECUs for you, but you will not get the EcuTek 'tuned' ROM from them (that would be theft). They will put the standard base map in for you, overwriting the EcuTek one.

in bootmode i think it's possible even to read ecutek flash program and put also the original program .
But that depends the method you flash your ecu.

The first thing the chip does when entering SH boot mode is erase all flash. You can't read out the ROM that way.

i noticed ecuflash having the 'force shbootmode' in the options
if i'm correct, enabling that should overwrite the ecutek, correct?
but i doubt you can pull the rom off though.

I think so, but I think a special hardware interface is required as well.

the easiest way (on Subaru) to remove EcuTek is to borrow and unmarried AccessPort version 2. It has an unpublished "feature" that will remove any existing reflash upon installation to the vehicle. When done, unmarry from the car and the AccessPort will put a stock, clean Subaru ROM on the ECU. Then you can return the AccessPort to your generous friend and tune as you wish.

Handy trick, thanks!

So let me get this right: AccessPort can reflash EcuTek'd ECUs? I wonder what do EcuTek thinks about that!

I don't think they really care.

If i remember correctly they both disclosed to each other their "locking" mechanisms to allow each other access to the hardware.

not always the case, i have read ecutek ecu`s loads of times using ecuflash without anyproblem. Also you can overwrite it if you want.

If that is the case, then either:
1. The ECU is not locked, even if it has an ET tune
2. You are using a hacked version of ECUFlash
3. Something else magical is going on
