Carisma 2002 (UK) Di-D + EvoScan

I am not into tuning (Diesel Carisma
) just need to maintain and fix my car.
Does EvoScan + Universal 1.3B cable (link below) work OK with the Carisma (2002 UK) Di-D

Anyone here using or used it on the Di-D?
Will a cheaper cable from ebay etc to the same job as the above cable.
I am not interested in great communication speeds.
