EcuTeK trolls !!!

Postby Dweeb » Fri Jan 18, 2008 2:03 pm

Just an observation/notice

For those that know, careful of who you communicate here with, there are few “EcuTeK trolls” here, and they are after something.

My guess is they are trying to find out how someone can bypass their “eculock” , and how the unlocking is done.
Not that they can do anything about it if you decide to “hack/unlock” your ecu without having to pay them for the “privilege” of going back to your stock map/rom (and unlocking your ECU). Considering that they “locked” your ecu in the first place without your specific permission, which they do not have the right to do, to begin with.

I don’t want to get into the IP thing with anyone, but the custom tuned map is not they IP to begin with.
Also no one is using/hacking “their software” to unlock the ECU.

Dude, I hope this statement wasn't aimed at me ... looking at the time of your post and the time I PM'd you.

I am not an ecutek troll! I am just as pissed off as everyone else to find out that ecutek had locked MY ecu and have just been searching for an easy way to get the map off and unlock it (without having to travel 3 hours to the guy that originally mapped my car). I can understand you may be suspicious at someone who has only one post, but how can I use the openecu software and contribute to the community if I can't get access to my ecu? :(

I have a customers car that has a locked ecu. I can get into EVO roms that have been locked but not the Subaru ones. If someone could help me out on how to do it I might be able to help them out somehow.

Thanks,
Wayne
