Cant fully load Enginuity on with Windows Vista???

Postby Easyrider » Mon Dec 24, 2007 1:36 am

Hi-Just brought a new laptop with Vista operating system on it-ive managed to get ecuflash on, but i cant get Enginuity to install.
Basically, i get to the point after agreeing to the terms&conditions,it starts to install but then get ---
java.io.FileNotFoundException:C:\ProgramFiles...................(access denied)

Any ideas on what i can do to get around this.

Thanks.

do you have Java installed ?? www.java.com

try uninstalling Enginuity and then reboot, then install Enginuity again. Make sure the downloaded Enginuity package is OK. (just download it again) i have had that problem before. somehow it didn't download properly... and had a hard time installing.

worth a try anyway

oh, make sure to run as ADMIN or with Admin Privileges.

Problem solved- just had to change the directory to Documents instead of ProgramFiles-all loaded on a treat.

Got another problem now-i am able to read the ecu data a treat with ecuflash, but cant seem to get the logger to work in Enginuity-keeps coming up with-

null, with protocol:SSM, and connection timeout: 2000ms

Anyone have any ideas???
