JDM EVO 8 GSR - cant flash back and CAR WONT START. HELP!!!!

problem with flashing and 03 JDM EVO 8 GSR

see attached files (original and amended for reading using a definition file kindly hosted on this forum)

no today i did a flash and all was ok. then went to do another flash with a revised map and now no joy, the car dont start,

I also tried to flash back my original and I could flash every other file and read from the ecu fine (tested 3 laptops and a macbook so I know i havebt got a PC or Mac issue) and i figd I couldt have done any permanent damage as the cable is reading off the maps flashed, its just they wont start the car

Im new to all this. I mainly tune power fc ecu, and sucessfully too i might add. Just wanted to give this ago and be more consistent with light tuning. ive never had these flash probs before. May be i need fresh eyes on the map.

can someone tell me if the maps are drastically diff? I noticed a MISC section on the map which none of the other spec'd EVO 8 's have. Is this normal. Could this be why the car no longer fires up.

Have i fried the ECU, please help. I need to get this car started and this OPEN ECU stuff is putting me off now and I dont want it to as I know once I get going id like to think I could achieve some good results.

I will post my original map....

and converted one using the definitions provided....

Thanks in advance. please make comment , positive or negative. I just want to knwo where i stand. if i have to go and buy a power fc then so be it, but I dont want to if I can tune with good results on the stock ECU.

also whats the most boost my turbo can handle without compressor surge.

So, do you think you are successfully flashing the original backup image? If you really did back it up correctly when you first read your stock image off, and you don't get any errors when you flash that original backup back to the car it should work fine.

Looking at the map is irrelevant if it is a good backup. But, from what you've posted I think there is something more drastic going on. Do you have the actual original backup you read from the ECU before you starting doing anything else? Are you sure? Have you changed anything (like injectors or major intake change) that would make a bone stock ROM not run?

What do you mean "won't start?" That could mean several things. Does it crank? Is there any fuel? Is your battery charged?

Those hex files look a bit screwed, the high octane fuel has some very odd looking values as does the Ignition. Have you got over this yet?

Cant read the ROM's from work but is the original four digit immobilizer known and was it flashed in?

thanks guys for your input and sorry for the delay. i managed to get the car running in the end. kept flashing and it seemed to fix itself and successfully map the engine from 276hp up to 326hp and 311ft ibs of torque. just experiencing a little boost cut underload but nothing im assuming I cant sort without raising the boost limiters.

thanks again. great forum and great bit of kit. just a shame you cant live tune I could get the job done soooo much quicker.

If you have a 9 JDM/UK or US you can because I've modified the ECU to do so. With more testing I'll put it out for the 8. Lots of info on this in the Ecuflash forum on evolutionm.net

x2!!!! I looked at the maps and the high octane timing and fuel maps have some messed up values at lower load. These can't be the original roms. I'm surprised you got the car to start with those maps!
