hey guys, just a few moments before I gotat get back to work... just wanted to say hi and ask a few quick ones.

If I've read everything correctly.. I should be able to copy the rom image of the APv2 stage 2 map on my ecu, edit it to my additional mods and re-flash it back onto the ecu without problems?

are there drivers out there to use the AP2 cable? or is tactrix the only way to go?

somone offered to sell me their "1.3 Subaru one"
is this the correct cable?

I have a 2006 wrx sti.
is there anything else I need?
or advice for doing such?

not trying to rip cobb off, but I payed for the unit, don't really plan on selling it.. so in my mind I payed for the map to edit it as I like for my own car.

(i have all the software downloaded)

Ecuflash is only written for the FTDI based Tactrix cable.

You cannot use a serial cable because PC UARTs do not support the correct baud rates. The FTDI USB to Serial UART does support what is needed.

I'm not sure, but I think APv2 might lock you out. If you are really serious about using Openecu you're probably better off just selling your AP. Once you really get into tuning you really shouldn't need to have started on a Cobb map anyway. You could only ever tune the base map, and it is possible conflicts can arise.
