Have the same issue,

Connect Green Connectors
OBD Cable plugged in
Ign on
Press Read and this comes up:

[14:45:57.406] Using interface OpenPort 1.3 Universal X460m0o6e5bb7c96bbedc06d28fbfc35410af8e303b3a07
[14:46:02.443] SSM2 read ram byte addr: 000061
[14:46:02.493] ECU is in test mode
[14:46:03.574] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[14:46:04.796] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[14:46:06.018] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[14:46:07.240] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[14:46:08.461] denso02_bootloader_cmd_s
[14:46:08.461] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[14:46:08.882] kernel get version

Then i get a windoes saying there is an error

I always get this same result

Any ideas?

Thanks

So, if you got Ecutek, you can't read the rom image ???

Well gee sorry to say this but once your car has ben tuned with Ecutek, its locked out forever. Even "uninstalling" Ecutek will return it to a state where Openecu can access it.

This is one reason why it caused an uproar in Nasoic.

oxygen, I assume that the car you are attempting to flash or read from is

1) Not ECUTEK-ed
2) A supported model that openecu can access
3) has been installed with the necessary jumpers, if at all

Once these are done, you have to

1) Ensure that the green connectors are well connected
2) Turn the ignition key but do not crank start, you should see a flashing CEL and the radiator fan will go on and off, on and off...
3) Switch off the ignition totally
4) Select the proper metadata on Ecuflash
5) Only turn the ignition to "ON" when PROMPTED by the program
6) It should work...

I used to skip step 5 and and left the ignition at the "ON" position. Apparently, it won't work that way.

I have a edm sti 04. It's ecutek tuned, and I can't do anything to it. I'v been planning to get a fresh ecu to it and sell the old ecu with the ecutek license.

Is there a list of ecus that are comparable with my old ecu? Can I use, mayby JDM 01->04 ecu?

Hi All,

We should be able to assist you. Tactrix may do this as well, or maybe only to recover from a partial flash fail. You may wish to see http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php ... ght=#16865 for previous discussion of unlocking any Subaru or EVO ECUtek'd ECUs. Send them across if you need them done.

Kind Regards
