So my friend has a 2002 wrx, I had a 2003 stage IV. I made just over 300AWP for almost a year, blew my 3rd gear finally so i decided to de-mod and sell the car. I sold my power mods to my friend with a used 2002 ( vf34/ pinky's/ Intake stuff/ Intercoolers/exhaust stuff, pretty much every power mod.) Well he only had it installed for a couple of days and didnt really get to drive it hard. He flashed his ECU with a map my tuner made for my car. This map that was made for my car was very conservative and had a 10.6 A/F with only 19 psi down low and taper to 17 up top. very mild timing also. Well his motor blew while doing a 3rd gear pull. He was actually generating the data log i have attached.

Looks like there was some boost creep. While it didn't look like that necessarily killed the engine (you're within the turbo's flow by a long shot), it could've done some damage over time with lots of 5500+ rpm pulls. From 5500 up, wastegate duty tanked. Catless car? Timing was also starting to tank about the same spot. I assume the KC map is 10's across the board?

Well being a used car it probably has been beat, Yes the KC is targeted at 10. As for the creep, this is the only map that this setup will have any sort of boost creep. I had my setup tuned by a great tuner but unfortunatly the results with my car werent so good. With the help of alot of reading and forum use i was able to tune it to some really great numbers with 0 amount of creep. I was afraid that the injector install might have gone bad, some how clogged or the install of the fuel pump. Just seemed like it leaned out or something, it sounded fine when he first installed drove about 100 miles then POP!

Could it be runaway boost? Around row 62, WGDC has reached 0 and boost was still building...

I dont really see that as run away boost, if you consider how fast all this is happening there is still going to be pressure inside the motor untill its release VIA venting or combustion. The WG is going to dump any additional boost from being able to be built but it will not vent what is inside the manifold. The turbo was building boost when the WGDC hit 0 the pressure inside the manifold was still being metered so even once the WGDC hit 0 there was still air being blowin into the engine from what was already inside the intercooler pipes etc, just after that the boost falls down. No it just looks like his motor was weak to begin with and now it failed.
