ecuflash 1.29 problem (no vehicle interface)

hey guys whats up?

no matter how much i install and reinstall 1.28 and 1.29 and the drivers, i cannot get ecuflash 1.29 to connect to my cable.

is there a particular sequence or format i should follow to install it, help please?

I had the same damn problem. Here is how I solved it...

- Make sure your cable is unplugged.
- Uninstall ECUFlash and delete all folders having to do with it. Make sure you back up anything important.
- Uninstall the Tactrix drivers. You have to do this through add/remove programs.
- Reboot for good measure.
- Re-install ECUFlash 1.29, along with the drivers.
- Plug in your cable.
- Windows will ask for drivers. Point it to the drivers subfolder in the ECUFlash folder. It might ask for this twice.
- Reboot for good measure.
- Everything should work now.

I'm sure all those steps won't be needed for everyone, but that's what I had to do to get it working. It works fine now.

Yup, a few of us reported the same issues as the OP. Apparently you have to uninstall both ECUflash AND the original tactrix drivers to get 1.29 to work. ECUPancakes already mentioned this.

I haven't gotten around to trying this on the laptop I was having trouble with but since my tuning laptop is happy with 1.27, I'm staying with that for now.
