Problem fully reading 2006 sti ecu. Only gets ignition maps

Postby charles » Tue Jun 06, 2006 10:22 am

I read the cu on my completely, stock 2006 usdm sti and under parameters, all that is listed is ignition maps A and B. Nothing else.

I attached the rom file

That's not a problem with the ROM... it's a problem with your XML description for the ROM. It's likely incomplete.

- Search for XMLWRITE

Thanks for the direction. I believe I am starting to understand the problem. Is it correct to say that there is no XML for the 06 sti and basicall it has to be defined to reveal all the maps which are there , but I cannot see them because it is using an 05 sti to interpret?

what version of ecuedit you are using? Put it in the same folder as ecuedit, if you did not change the settings file.

The XMLs for Ecuflash are located in a subdirectory where you installed the program (I think default is c:\program files\openecu\ecuflash\).

Find the right directory and paste the file there.

I think the XML file you have been supplied with is for the ECUEDIT program not the ECUFLASH program (judging by west_minists question)

one XML file is not compatible with all 3 programs (ECUEDIT, ECUFLASH, ENGINUITY) You have to have the one tailored for your program.

Here is an XML for Ecuflash produced by xmlwrite:
http://freon.shackspace.com/car/ecu%20a ... ZJE11J.XML

And one for Ecuedit:
http://freon.shackspace.com/car/ecu%20a ... ZJE11J.XML

Latest Ecuedit:
http://freon.shackspace.com/car/ecu%20a ... _0_70b.zip

Personally I use Ecuedit. I can easily produce workable XML files with the XMLwrite utility for Ecuedit. I opened your ROM on my computer with Ecuedit and the above Ecuedit XML in the /XMLDefs folder where ecuedit.exe is and it works like a charm.
