Colby's HC16 IDA flirt sig helped a lot. Plus, the Motorola specs and language reference posted here, and some electrical schematics.

Extensive testing, and a good knowledge of certain hex editors.

2A640-2A665 = VVT INTAKE CAM ADVANCE ANGLE RPM SETTINGS (VERTICAL)
2A667-2A682 = VVT INTAKE CAM ADVANCE ANGLE THROTTLE SETTINGS (HORIZONTAL)
2A685-2A79C = VVT INTAKE CAM ADVANCE ANGLE DATA VALUES

This is only for the ah581 rom. (2003 "ver8" JDM STi Twin Scroll)

I got my wideband installed in the car and have partial tune the car. A lot more responsive now. I have a HKS AFR.

What I realise that below 4Krpm (close loop) and below 1/2 throttle, the car is @ 14.7 or slightly less. Damn.

The only way that I can correct is problem is a reflash.

Colby, how is the JECS editing coming along?

I just got a JECS ECU in the mail the other day - hopefully I can get the reflash figured out for it soon!

Thats great!

I just cannot believe the afr in that range.

Once download, then we can see what other tools out there to view those maps.

Either way, good news.

I opened up my JDM MY00 2.0L AVCS Impreza non-turbo Unisia JECS ecu today.

UNISIA JECS CORPORATION
A5
22611 AE463
A18-000 D3G 0524

On the broad:-
A19-001 D52N

The large chip w/ many legs, which have to be the ecu is not a motorola

UJ
WA12212920WWW
016E100

All other chips were NEC. But the processor chip had no motorola on it at all.

Colby, I do not know if this would help, but can you post a pic of the JECS you have?

The Forester-ECU is from my car, the picture of the WRX-ECU was lifted from ebay..

Guess its time to get a Interface and look around for a spare ECU to fool around with :P

I just need to add the AVCS controls now.

But there was a new ecu that came out for the same engine in 2000. Most probably when acquisitions were going on w/ Unisia JECS Corp.

Where is the rom store? In the chip below the microprocessor?

If you are talking about the Rom that we access, it is internal to the micoprocessor.
