JDM EcuFlash

Postby R. Mutt » Wed May 03, 2006 3:34 am

Have you had any luck with the reflash? I've been talking to this guy on evolutionm.com who is dealing with EcuFlash for evos. The cable is already out and he's taking orders...the software will be out soon. I'm thinking of buying the cable but waiting to find out if it works on jdm ecus. The site boasts that it does, but I want to confirm just in case cuz I find it hard to believe a US based guy was able to test out on evi VI and VII ecus

[I moved your post, since it seemed not WRX related]

The cable is not quite out yet, but I will be shipping them to my customers and Jason by the end of the week. The cable / software will definitely work on JDM as well. Keep in mind the software only works with Evo 7/8 right now, but there will be complete support for EVO 5-9 in the near future. I developed the software and hardware using a number of sample ECUs, including a EVO 7 RalliArt, that I believe is JDM, although it may have been a world market unit. The point is, all of the Mitsu ECUs I have seen work the same way.

I expect this is internal ID EM9864?

What do you want to know? I have been working on this ROM for a while but don't use ECUFlash for editing so have never bothered writing an XML.

Hi Sean

Have you had any luck getting an xml file for this ECU? I have the same ECU & can't match any of the current xml file addresses to the hex download from my ECU.

Havent gotten the XML, I have been searching the code and comparing to the evo8 stuff and I can see all maps. Just trying to tie it all together.
Also waiting for help from a few people here and there.

Hi

What are you using to read the hex file? Any chance you could give the the offsets for the High Octaine fuel & ignition maps? Thanks

Hi GTO

Thanks for the help. The Hi/low octain addresses seemed spot on, 35bd gives me an AFR map, but the RPM & load scales didn't match my hex file.

From your post in the Evo6 thread above, I think I have -14 ECU. I have found an RPM map at 4fb4 & a load map at 4fda, I asume these are the correct ones for the Hi octain fuel map. Lets see what else I can find.

Sorry, those addresses are from EM9986  . Some of the addresses do vary from revision to revison.

I'll dig out the ROM later and confirm the scales.

Hi

Here's my JDM Evo7 GSR Hex file & a small xml with the Hi/low octain fuel & ignition maps, Hex file name refects the ECU case numbers.

4th June, found some more maps, changed xml name to match ECU internal ID. having trouble finding the anti lag maps & the knock filters.
