Unable to Flash newer 2010 STi ECU with ID:AZ1G701I

Postby v8bware » Wed May 05, 2010 10:05 pm

I have tuned quite a few 08, 09, and 2010 STI's and WRX. The early 2010 STi's are editable but mid year Subaru changed the ECU ID and you cannot flash the ECU. I can pull the rom and I have a definition that allows me to edit the rom but when i try to re-flash the ECU i get a "This area of the map is locked" error and the flash stops. The ECU ID from the later model year is AZ1G701I. Has anyone run into this issue or been able to flash a newer STi yet? Any help would be appreciated.

Neither ECU Edit or ECU Flash will flash this rom yet and i have not seen any updates for it yet.

Thanks
Kert

Thanks for that.

Can you reflash the factory ROM without changes? If not, then it's one for Colby to answer, for sure.

If you can, make a single change at a time to try and find which flash segment ECUFlash doesn't want to change.

Was wondering if anyone has had this similar issue. I have been having my customers with the later model 2010 STi purchase a cobb unit. I would definately like to give them the option of going open source. Have not heard back on anything about this issue. I have posted up in this forum and also at epifansoft.com (EcuEdit) forums. Has no one had this issue?
