LS1 RX-7 reflash?

I have an lS1 out of an 02 Corvette in a 93 RX-7. I have a problem though. The people who did the swap before I bought the car didnt a shoddy job and installed a cam without tuning it at all and therefore the thing does not stay running and I have horrible driveability issues. A long time ago I used this site for tuning a lancer and it worked great. If I were to buy the cable needed for tuning and try to get the image off of the ECM if thats possible with this engine. Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge or an idea if this would work? I really dont want to drop the 800 or so bucks it will cost to use EFI live wich is essentially the same thing it a little package deal.
