Don't think I can help without the ECU here, if you don't find a solution by Monday send us the ECU and we should be able to recover it for you.

Cheers

Thanks Lachlan. I disconnected the battery another time, and this time I waited 20 minutes (only waited about 5 minutes the first time). Reconnected the battery and tried re-flashing again.

As the program was reflashing, just the progress bar cycled across the screen - twice. No fresh log was generated for the flash.

Tried to start and it WORKED! Car starts now.

I have no idea why it worked, or why it failed in the first place, but it's good to know that you guys could potentially fix a bad flash to the ECU.

Please advise your contact details so I can have them to hand, as it will probably go bad on me again one day.

To be honest, I'm getting a little nervous with this flashing business now! :)

cheers

More fallout from the failed flash?

Postby renhoek » Sat Mar 29, 2008 6:11 pm

Couldn't start the car today. Seems it is not acceptiong the immobiliser code. It's as if I'm using the wrong code. Maybe the failed flash corrupted the immobiliser code?

I'll call the local dealer tomorrow to see if they can re-input the code. If I have any dramas there, looks like I'll get to meet you sooner than I thought!
