Best option: take it back to EcuTek dealer and get them to reflash it back to standard. Then you can do what you like after that with your tune and you won't be breaking any rules with EcuTek.

Yes it is possible but not ethical. The tune EcuTek did contains their own intellectual property, and copying it is a violation of their copyright. If you start from scratch you have no such legal concerns, all the tuning freedom in the world, and you'll be able to sleep at night.

The final solution was posted by radsdau. You can either go back to your Ecutek tuner to tweak your tune, or you can have them revert to stock, throwing away all the money you already spent on the tune, and start from scratch with Openecu.

Either way, you need to talk to the Ecutek tuner. Openecu cannot really help you while you are on a locked Ecutek flash.

The thread I linked to was just for extra information if you want to read it. There is no better solution. I think it is worth reading, though.

if it is old type lock you can connect the ecu and reflash the ecu with a new map. in 2002 ecus you can directly flash another 2002 map. (same market, same year car)

but if it is a new type lock the only way is unlock by ecutek tuner(you dont have to for unlock) or send it to a garage which has ability to unlock it.

and 1400 euro is way to much from msrp.
