34mm Restrictor Tuning

Postby Zakie@TIC » Mon Aug 13, 2007 10:22 am

Hi, can I have some insight on tuning a evo8 with a 34mm restrictor, what changes to be made to fuel, timing and boost maps. How different will the car behave with the 34mm restrictor cos I have never done it before.

Thanks,

Zakie

As much boost as you can possibly run s early as possible then taper it. You will see on your MAF logs where the restrictor chokes the flow (it will vary depending on the temperature [and density] of the air). Be prepared to not rev very high and taper boost and ramp the shit out of the timing as load comes down and RPM rises (this is how the ignition table is arranged anyways). The motor will tell you what it wants for AFR and timing, give her that.

Thanks Lateapex,

Do you have map done for this kind of application as to get an idea of tapering the boost and adjusting the timing accordingly.

Thankyou
