Flashing tools do not recognize flash method

Hi All,

I'm having my first go at flashing my car. I've read the ROM out OK. And I wanted to do a Test Write - but I get the following error....

Flashing tools do not recognize flash method ''

I get this whenever I click Write To ECU, Test Write, or Compare. But read works fine !

Anyone any ideas ?

Go to your Ecuflash directory. Click on rommetadata and go to the Subaru folder (assuming this is a Subaru). Find your definition file which will be the ecu revision (example A4SGD10C.xml). Open it with a text editor and add the correct flash method in between the flashmethod tags (example <flashmethod>wrx02</flashmethod>). Tell us which rom revision you have and we can tell you which flashmethod to use.

That's great !

It's a A4TJ111C. It's a Jap STi 05 model, but I didn't see that listed on the table that was offered for the ROM download - I think i selected a WRX one instead. How do you know which method to use ?

You may want to post up in the JDM subforum and see what others have used with success. It probably is wrx02.
