Need help with new map

Postby New2Scoobs » Wed Feb 01, 2006 8:31 am

I think there is a map here but not sure whether I'm looking at a 1,2 or 3D map, how many rows (I think 16) and columns and what "power" (1 or 2) I need.

Can anyone help?

This is a good example for when you need to increase the power by one step.

Switch to power 2 and fiddle with the column width and it should start looking more obvious.

Try changing your offset by 1.

Changing your offset by 1 does nothing in 1 byte mode, but try it in 2 byte (or 4 byte) mode and things look very different!

In 1 byte mode, the up/down button next to the offset changes the offset by 1. But in 2 byte mode, it changes it by 2. Manually changing it by 1 can sometimes make things look different.

Which ROM is this? Can you post the ROM or a link to it?

Try displaying the data in hex and posting the screenshot here... that looks like one of the compensation maps, but it's hard to tell.

The first list of datas (starting at 2A5B6) seems to be RPM (multiply value by 50 and you will get real RPM value), then you get some data but according to list of datas, it should be a 3D map so look before 2A5B6 for first axis definition ;)

You don't think 2A5B6 is the actual ROW data then? (First axis data)

I've edited my post above and added another screen shot that shows data above 2A5B6 - (called MAP5.JPG)

That is def. the proper way to look at that. This means it is one of your RPM vs ??? maps [fuel, Ignition, Wastegate Duty Cycle, Speed,Relative Pressure]

now above or below this to find what the ???? is. it could be any type of data [fuel, Ignition, Wastegate Duty Cycle, Speed,Relative Pressure]

try the different type of byte and formula for each to see if anything makes sense.
