Anyone actually flash an Enginuity modified bin?

Postby LiquidForce » Thu Dec 08, 2005 6:25 pm

I tried yesterday but after I flashed my ECU my car wouldn't start. I was able to flash it back to my original map with no problems. I was using version .13 and the only changes I made were to the fuel map. I am not sure if my problem was caused by Enginuity or the fact that I looked at my map using TunerPro so I could see a 3d graph. I never saved any changes in TunerPro.

When I did a test flash it showed that the only changes were in the offset area where the fuel table is.

For reference this is an 02 USDM Ecu model AF23.

thanks

Did you download your ecu and edit it in enginuity or did you start with the supplied ROM?

The one that comes with it is for an 04/05 ECU- that could be part of the problem- as far as I know you can't mix the two ECU types.

I've been using Enginuity with no problems on an 04 WRX.

Please let me know if I can help.

AF423 is probably the most popular ecu type for 2002 wrx.

The 2002 offsets I calculated are the ones form the af423. You could do a hex compare and see if it changes the correct areas for the af423.

I started with the dowloaded version of my bin.

I have been working on an xdf file for TunerPro for the 2002 wrx. I used the offsets from your post and both enginuity and tunerpro show the same values for the fuel table. I have yet to run a hex compare to make sure nothing outside the table has changed . I'll try that next.

thanks

edit:

I compared the files and the only differences between the files were from 2940A - 29493.
