Ok, I'm decide to include ECU connectivity in ecuEdit - and SSM support it's a first step, MUT is next
So, that's a teaser - release would be on weekend, I'm hope

All we need now is Dyno support. that would be one great product. I guess others may do this :)

Epifan, Salute to you and your hard work :D Cant wait to see it comes out and try it myself.

For me the most wanted feature is Live Tuning. This is very important to shorten down the tuning time.

Ok, now it's prerelease a new shareware version of ecuEdit, which would released on this week. This version is support logging using Subaru Select Monitor.

epifan,

Thanks for you continued releases. I'm testing the new stuff and have two questions:

1. I get an error when clicking the Subaru Log Monitor - 'Can't found description for prototcol SSM'. How does one configure this (for a MY03 EURO WRX)?

2. My ECU XML file is being auto-generated these days using XmlWrite. Has anyone an example of how I change it to fix the above error?

Thanks in advance,
-Steve.

You didn't install it correctly. There is a logdefs.xml that comes with the new .72b version that goes into the /XMLDefs folder. If you don't just try to overwrite your ecuedit.exe it works fine.

It has nothing to do with the other XML files. I'm guessing you just copy and pasted the ecuedit.exe file over. You need to install and overwrite ALL the files in that zip file to get it to work.

Freon,

Thanks for your response. I've installed this update like all others - simply extract the archive into a new directory, copy xmlwrite in to that folder and run.

[edit] I have the logdefs.xml from this archive in the correct folder as you describe.

What am I missing?

Did you reopen Ecuedit after you put the logdefs.xml in the correct directory? It doesn't open any XMLs you've added until you restart ecuedit.

Try this, just redownload it, extract the whole thing to a fresh directory. Then open the ecuedit you just unzipped and hit the SSM button. I bet it works...

I tested it here, the logdefs.xml not being there breaks it. It worked the first time and I just tried removing it because that sounds like the issue and was able to reproduce the behavior you see.

Maybe make sure to overwrite the .me and .ini files as well?

The Dyno does not seems to work.

How do you get it to work?

Open Log File, select timeline region (filling red on screen), swith to Dyno Page, choose log for Vehicle Speed and Engine Speed, enter vehicle mass - thats all!

No luck. This is something that you will have to make easier.

Choosing the range in the 2d graph should be efficient

Just tested out the logger.
I have an MY00 WRX and the logger works well, but I did notice that
the advance multiplier drop down list only showed the 201xx range.
I looked in the logdefs.xml file and found that this range is under the
name "ssmbase16" and the other AM values are under "ssmbase32" :?:
I placed my AM value under the "ssmbase16" list and it was able to be
selected & worked (80224A). Same with the Engine Load"

Also, what is the reason behind the 30 second count down timer before logging can begin :?:

Keep up the good work :D

Cheers,
Shane

Freon, what you describe is what I have already done. Extract archive to a new clean directory, run EcuEdit then click the SSM button - error as reported above.

I have not replaced, copied or modified any file from epifan's new release above. As it is out of the box and I get the error when clicking on the SMM button.

I must be doing something wrong compared to you lot. Perhaps you guys are replacing/modifying an xml config file somewhere?
