What is an "ecu requestid"? I am not a newbie, I am just not sure what your are refering too.

It is your ecu serues number - the number used in ecuflash xml definitions -u can see it in ecuflash ->Rom info ->internal ID
Could be usefull for datalogger soft writer do distinguish wich pids of MUT does the current ecu support.

Thanks, exactly what I needed..

What is the expected response and the init prior to sending the string?

Or is it still 0x00 @ 5 baud, then send those bytes and wait for a 4 byte response?

Also which baud rate? MUT or OBD-II?

He did post it on Aktivematrix, but I didn't understand when he said "gives you your request ID" until I saw this post.

Obviously he meant ECUID.. It never clicked with me either.
