Online Openport Config tool Beta

Based on the work by freakin (thank you!) I created a online configuration file generator for the Open Port 2.0 microSD logger.

Pros
logger.xml and ecudefs.xml do not need to be installed on your computer as the server parses it online
No software to install on your PC.
Tested to work on IE8 and FF3.x

ECU ID dropdown is searchable (ie: your ECU ID is A2WC510N you can enter 510N in the drop down and find it)
    Image

Primary and extended parameters are searchable in the generated table
    Uses OS web frameworks

Cons
I have not implemented parameters with dependencies (computed parameters)
I am only using Imperial measurements (I will put the others in soon)
I have only defogger switch setup for now (more coming)
Have to cut and paste into editor to save configuration file (temporary)

Future Releases will include
Sessions (you need to allow cookies)
Generate preset configurations (Airboy, MRP/MAP, etc

Editable fields (make your parameters names shorter before you make your config file).
    Image

    Save configurations to computer

Anyone interested in helping me test it out? I still need to iron out some bugs but for the most part it works. You need to have your OP2 firmware updated.

Read how to do it here: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=4319

PM me for details. I don't want to open it up yet until I make sure the code I have does not crush my server. :D

Edit:
20091207: Added drop down image reference

output from the tool matches my output so all that should be good :D bar the length problems with the strings.

my $0.02

  • When you click generate cfg file it does a document.write to to the child window which appends so you end up with multiple configs on one page.
  • The column headers look like links that should sort but they dont.
  • The search box is neat but confusing because you can filter the list and (de)select the one you do(nt) want and click generate, but it says nothing is selected or you only get that one.

if you need a hand with anything give me a shout.

I have column sorting turned off for now. You are right about the child window being appended to. I have been thinking of just using jqueryui's modal window to present the information.

I am having a hard time with getting ZeroClipboard to work. This will allow to just download the file without generated a file on the server. Have you worked with it?

I will look into the filter part tonight.

thanks for the feedback.
