Same here, and no real reply from Colby/OP support since May.

Does anyone know the format of the special 3-byte parameter request mentioned below for logging 4-byte RAM parameters over CAN:

•support for fast RAM parameters on Subaru CAN vehicles (assuming ROM patch has been made). just use the known RAM parameter ID (0xFFxxxx) and the OP2 will do the rest. reading of multibyte RAM parameters is sped up by the ROM patch which allow reading up to 4 bytes with a specially encoded 3-byte parameter request.

Thanks.

bump, sure would be nice to have the speed of RomRaider's fast poll.

It came out right after i bought my OP2.0, which I got for logging... Now I only use RR with the laptop because the logs are so much better.

Doesn't require a patch either :)

and it is only matter of putting 0x1 instead of 0x0 in the padding of the SSM query..... very trivial for somebody like Mr Boles.

Can you link me to the details of this somewhere?

In http://www.romraider.com/RomRaider/SsmProtocol you'll notice in the A8 Read Address Request there is a byte marked:
PP==pad?
Everyone sets this byte to 0x00. In doing so the ECU responds with one sample of the requested values. If you set the byte to 0x01 and send that to the ECU it will respond indefinitely with the requested values. Basically a request and listen mode.

I hate to sound impatient here, but is there a status on this development? Do you plan on making the change?

I realize it will take more than changing the request bit in order to work with a stream as opposed to tx/rx, but it still doesn't seem like an arduous task.

Granted, I completely understand you may be very busy with other work that is more important to you, and that is perfectly fine. However, if that is the case, why not release the firmware source to allow unimpeded open development of it? This goes for ECUFlash as well.

After all, it is called the Openport, and this entire project is called OpenECU.

Another bump on fast poll. Or better yet release the source code and decouple the logger from the rest of the openport eeprom so we can replace it ourselves.
