If they all change from 0x42 to 0x52 for the relative jump (they should if the larger span of this function has no changes), then yes.

Yes. I noticed they are all the same, so it should work. Notice that the addresses I used in my example are not the same - they are shifted a few bytes earlier so that more data is included in the pattern.

well AFAIK only 1 person has bricked their ECU by doing my mode23 mod.

Thats because the didn't ENSURE the "before" numbers matched in their ROM...

It can't really get much easier :)

If we can work out the proper diagnostics mode then we wouldn't need to change 3 bytes at all :)

first i've heard of it..

follow the directions in the "illustrated" thread - you can't really stuff it up.

maybe some of these guys should sell their OP20 cable ;)

I think the bloblist way really helps though. Even I accidentally cut and pasted your definitions into the wrong XML and then loaded that ROM - and guess what - there was coincidentally a 0x05 in the first byte I needed to change to 0x23 - even though I was in the wrong code area.

Colby, I installed the Beta software and plugged it into my 08 sti, it logged the parmeters in the .txt file i placed on the sd card. However it now does not log to SD card. Ive checked the OP2 firmware and confirmed it is 1.10.2658. The OP2 is no longer flashing fast when in the OBDII socket as it did last night. It logs to pc fine though. Any ideas. Cheers Phil

Hi Phil-

I'm a little unclear on what you are saying. Are you saying it worked for a while, and now it does not? Can you ZIP up and post a copy of your logcfg.txt, logcfg.out and any .csv files you have?

Thanks,

Colby

Hi Colby

Yes it worked fine, I went to use it last night in stand alone mode (ie no laptop connected) went for a drive and come back, plugged into laptop and no .csv was produced. I plugged back into car and looked at the lights, I noticed it was not flashing the lights at a fast pace like it did when it logged to sdcard the first time.

I have since unistalled ecuflash and OP2 drivers, rebooted laptop, fresh install of ecuflash 1.42.2595 and redownloaded the beta software, run installer and tried agian, still with no luck

I have formated sd card to FAT32 system and put the subaru can logcfg.txt file on the sd card (renamed to logcfg.txt) and still no joy (I also did this the 1st attempt which was succsseful)

Unfortunatley I have deleted the .csv file and logcfg.out files when I formated the SD card

i'm wondering if it is SD card related. can you try formatting FAT16 ("FAT") and seeing if that makes a difference?

Colby

I formatted to FAT and retried, still no luck, the lights do not flash fast as they did the 1st time and no .csv file was produced

I used the Subaru can logcfg.txt and it produced a logcfg.out (but it is 0kb) not sure how to attach them here

Colby I wonder if it is worth rolling the OP2 firmware back to what is included with ecuflash 1.42? How do I do this? Then try reinstall the beta version. Just a thought
