Usually people post their ROM with this question. See the pattern of others in this and the Evo IX forum. It is likely that most Evo VIII and IX ROMs are fairly well decoded now, and if not the tables are quite easy to find by searching for patterns like ones we do know, or disassembly eg from known tables to find others.

my car is an 03 evo 8 Jap Import

can someone please point me to a how to for Idiots like me at the moment I am only interested in removing my 180kmph speed limiter,
when I downloaded the rom it asked me for a definition and the only thing remotly close to my model was evo 7 base
I know this is frustrating for all you veterans but I am really interested in learning how to do this,

Can somebody help me with an XML definition for my ecu? My ecu file is attached.
Once I have the XML, I suppose I place it in the directory:
C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo\

but then must I remove all the other XML files in that directory so it only reads the new one?

I can read the file with that XML file (I already had that one I think), but I was under the impression that there was a better XML file out there because some of the parameters don't appear correctly. For example, the intercooler sprayer parameters don't work right. When I click on IC Relay Timer Air Temp, I can only see the first digit of the 3 digit temperture value. There are more parameters like this that I can't read correctly. Got any ideas how to fix this? Others have said that I have the wrong XML definition.

Not sure if this is the route but I'm (blindedly) searching for a way to log 2 byte load/airflow/rpm with my 04 VIII 96420007 ID and need to find what to use as address and decimal equivalent.

96420007 anyone?
