For the Subaru's I know that this has been addressed, but for Mitsubishi--- I have not seen any info or any other inquiry into this. Anyone have any input?

In subaru looking for this codes is rom is simle -U find the table with hex values of the codes - find the code U want to disable and put 0x55 to the cell after it instead of 1 . In mitsu the codes work different.
