Hello everyone I am new ....... I do not understand what the file is XML, how do I turn it into a hex file so ECOFLASH can read ...... can you help me understand? thanks

The XML file is information about the ROM that you read from a vehicle, not the ROM itself.
It describes where the useful tuning information is, and what format the data is in etc. Effectively it enables you to tune your car by editing the table values and other data.
You need an OpenPort2 cable to read the ROM from and write the ROM back into your car.

Start by posting the ROM on this forum, with as many details about the type of car as you can.

This is 888400016, which is 2006 EDM EVO9. The defs are included already in the latest ECUFlash release.
I've included it here again just in case.

There are a lost of posts on this forum about this sort of thing. You should search there first.
You use ECUFlash to open .hex/.bin files, NOT xml files.
The XML files define how the ROMs are interpreted by ECUFlash. They go in a 'Metadata directory', which can be set in File-Options.

Hi Oscar-
These definitions are included with the latest ECUFlash. So long as the metadata directory is set to default, which will be something like C:\Program Files\OpenECU\ECUFlash\rommetadata (then restart ECUFlash), it should work.
