VI TME ECU

VI TME ECU

Postby mistamidget » Sun Apr 11, 2010 7:16 pm

Have an MR514364 ecu which is for a EVO VI TME.
The pcb is the JE331B33702B which uses the MH7203F cpu.
I have been reading and reflashing standard VI ecu's using the openport 2.0 and the latest ecuflash with no problems at all but when trying the same process on the TME ecu the read was ok but when reflashed corrupted it somehow making the car unstartable.
The flash process now sees the ecu as mostly invalid

Are there people out there successfully reflashing these ecu's and if so is there something I'm missing that you can help me out with.
Also can someone email me a standard .hex file for this ecu so I can try getting it back to square one.
Thanks

you need the beta version of ecuflash V1.43 and they do flash fine

Thanks guys, I tried that, in desperation
the version I have now is

[14:34:20.827] EcuFlash Version 1.43.3000
[14:34:20.827] OS Version Windows XP
[14:34:20.827] Qt Version 4.6.2
[14:34:20.847] 59 memory models read.
[14:34:20.847] scanning for metadata models in C:/Program Files/OpenECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata
[14:34:21.077] 351 ROM metadata models scanned.

I still get errors.
Is it possible that using the stable version initially has stuffed the ecu up somehow.
I tried the use recovery mode if possible which didn't help either.
Cheers,

What errors do you get? Can you take a screenshot?

Hi, I still have the log from when using EcuFlash Version 1.42.2595
I think the results were similar after apdating to EcuFlash Version 1.43.3000 but will re-do the whole process asap and repost.

all that shows me is your trying to flash a new rom onto the ecu.have you been able to read the rom ok?

New rom, Hmm.
The reflash file I'm using is the initial read of the ecu with a parameter changed and then flashed back (failed).
This is why I am asking if anyone has an unmodified read of the MR514364 that I can try writing to it.
Im not sure the read is ok therefore meaning I'm trying to write a faulty map.
In any event I have a log of the same process using 1.43.3000
When reading it using the "1999-2001 Mitsubishi 2nd Gen/EVO6.5 MH7203F" option I get an operation successful message.
Thanks,

putting the log inline as I get a "possible attack vector" error trying to attach

Have you modified your XML to suit? The memmodel needs to be changed to H8539FA

Hi, thanks

The .xml has the following, I just noticed the cpu definition appear twice!! This is the standard .xml as far as I know.
I'll remove one and see if it has an effect.

<rom>
<romid>
<xmlid>27370001</xmlid>
<internalidaddress>1021a</internalidaddress>
<internalidhex>27370001</internalidhex>

<market>JDM</market>
<model>Evo</model>
<submodel>6 TME</submodel>
<transmission>Manual</transmission>
<year>2000</year>
<flashmethod>mitsukernel</flashmethod>
<memmodel>H8539FA</memmodel>
<memmodel>H8539FA</memmodel>
</romid>

Hi, I still haven't had any luck here with the TME ecu.
Is there anyone out there that has a valid .hex image for the MR514364 ecu so I can try to reflash with a standard image.
Cheers,

Hi,

I'm using the "1999-2001 Mitsubishi 2nd Gen/EVO6.5 MH7203F" option.
The read indicates it was successful.
