I'm using a different version of the OpenPort cable with an additional connector, new kernels for SH processors, and a new version of EcuFlash. It's not ready for release yet, but I thought people might enjoy perusing some files...

The software has already been working well for a month now. I'm just working on some organizational issues with the XML metadata and the like so that the program is usable. I'm still resolving some hardware compatibilty issues between the EVO8 and EVO9 too. It looks like the new EVO OpenPort will be able to work with Subaru DBW ECUs too, but not WRX ECUs.

Colby, I'm looking at the EVO8 MCU and trying to work out the bootloading. It appears that with ECU pin 79 tied high the MCU should go into boot mode out of reset; sending a bootloader to it should entirely erase all flash, according to the datasheet.
So what am I missing? This can't be right, else you'd not be able to dump the flash. Is it running in some other mode somehow, or is there a trick?
I'd be grateful if you could shed some light on this. Thanks.

That would be awesomely appreciated if you could post more details about the cable/kernel types/ and ecuflash source.

I have a lot of experience with coding c++ apps, and want to create some cool front end applications with graphs etc, for my Lancer Evolution as a hobby to share with everyone.

I am a newbie to this ecu rom editing. I have the ecuflash installed and viewing rom data posted in this thread. I noticed that the hi and low oct maps are the same. Why is that?

Yeah, I was just IM'ing with earlyapex about that. Only the upper left cell of 9417 is different between the two maps. I was confused as well.

Compare with EVO8 JM9693, an '05 ECU map. Markedly different high and low-octane maps.

this rom has some really wierd data in it. It seems to be much more agressive fuel and timing wise than the newer images.

any idea if this rom is really stock??

and the high det / low det issue mentioned above?
