Intercooler spray

Postby blackvr » Wed Apr 04, 2007 9:26 pm

Guys, I have been flashing my Aus spec Evo IX with some success, but have been having trouble in reprogramming the intercooler function. It doesnt seem to respond and there seems to be some unknown variable linkung it together. Has any one had any success in mofiying the spray function, and have you some clues.

Cheers Mike

What do you mean by re-programming the intercooler spray?

You mean changing the triggering specs (ie. trigger temp, frequency, etc.)?

Yes, changing the triggering point. The way the factory settings are in auto mode, the spray will never come on. I've done a bit more research since my first posting, and I may have it sussed. The workshop manual actually gives a good flow chart and descriptions. Basically Mitsubishi wont switch the spray on until the coolant temp exceeds 105 degrees. Not very useful for normal load conditions.
