Evo VII Knock filters

Evo VII Knock filters

Postby burgers » Thu Jan 11, 2007 1:47 pm

Hi

Has any one found the location of the knock filters of the JDM Evo 7? The best I can find is around 41fd on my 98640014 ROM. Looks kind of knock map, but there is only one of them. Any ideas?

I believe that is an expected IAC duty cycle table. Kind of like dashpot decrement. I also am having trouble finding the knock filter maps. Is there a possibility there is no knock filter maps in the early EVO's?

Have compared the australian delivered EVO7 ECU and there is definately no knock sensor filters. There are quite alot of changes as well. I am going to try to either enable the function or just flash a JDM version in and go from there.

My JDM Evo 9 also doesn't appear to have them, but as I noted above, Bez has documented the routine on aktivematrix. It uses a funny notch in the calibration of the knock sensor to increase the derivative which is uses to determine knock sum.

Well I am sitting in abject failure at trying to find the knock maps in my 98640014 rom. I have compared the locations to those posted above and find no similarities, I have looked at ( I think) every 3D map with an 0B or 0A size header, I've looked at the ROM upto offset 20000 or something in ECUedits hex viewer looking for map type patterns. I've looked at the knock routine Bez posted, and though IDA will make the code correctly, I have no idea how to get back to the filter maps. The 9417008 ROM that Bez has disassembled does not match my ROM either. Its not a big deal, but just a bit frustrating, feel free to point me in the right direction...............

Here are the knock maps that I found but are built off of what looks like the EVO 8 (JDM) Knock filters.
