Beginning Evoscan Qustions

OK... I got the Tactrix cable and the EvoScan software for my 06 Evo 9. I just want to do some data logging. The Evoscan will not install due to .net framework issues on my laptop so I am downloading the (hopefully) fix from microsoft as I type this. Is there a step by step directions somewhere for first time loggers. For instance, my cable has 2 connectors, and OBD2 port connector and another connector. Do I hook both those to the car? Hook them up with the car not running, then start the car? I don't want to screw up my ecu... so if someone can direct me to some answers I would appreciate it.

No m8 just hook up the obd part for datalogging,once you have 'framework' installed the program should run,its pretty easy from there
