EVO9 problem with XML and boost level

Postby flash » Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:25 pm

in later editions some mods are done at timing in the low revs and
at the a/f maps in the mid revs around the 100 and 120 load cells.

Looks nice. About 3 degrees more timing and a little leaner than I am at similar load levels at high RPM, much leaner at lower RPM, with a 6 RON difference in octane.

Can they get 105 RON from the pump in Japan?

the standard high-octan gas is the 102octan-premium.
some companys have the 105octan as standard high-octan gas.

Hi all,

Just traded my 8 to 9. Had 8 for just short period of time that´s why it was bone stock when I sold it. Would be very interested in tuning my 9.

Was wondering if evo400´s map in this thread would be ok for stock 9? Have catalytic removal pipe sitting in garage but thought that will try just software upgrade for starters.

Thanks

do not use this at a stock evo9!

a 3" (or bigger) exhaust with testpipe is a "have to"
also a bigger fuel pump.
a open intake is interesting too.

if you run this map on a stock car it would be to hot!

the best way is a egt and wideband.

Right!
At this level of power you need some security upgrades, like new fuel pump. And please newer tune your car without watching A/F ratio (using real Wideband lambda) and EGT. You are only risking death of your engine if dont know what is going on.

Openecu seems to be back. I started to read last posts on this thread on friday and website went down just before I got this thread open....

Thank you for the fast replys. I think I go to local tuner who has knowledge on Evo 9 and Ecuflash. Safer way to go. He wants 600 EUR for the reflash but makes the customising using dyno and road testing. Here in Finland the base price for Evo is 51900 EUR so few hundreds for safer custom flash should be reasonable price. At least a lot less than renewing toasted pistons:)

@ ansman
you are from finland? thats my favorit holiday-country :)
enough place and nobody who trumble on my nervs.
the car-prices in scandinavia are "crazy"!
where you from? near helsinki or more in the north?

600€ is a good price for a mapping. but if you want to play around with the car buy a egt and a a/f. the egt´s you can buy for 100€. and the aem-wideband costs around 300. with this tools you can start and nothing will blow away :P

flash,

I am from Helsinki. My favourite holiday-country also:). Like to go upnorth on holidays to lake cabin where there are no electricity, indoor bathrooms or any other modernday equipments. Just nature and me(+sauna).

The car prices here are very high. If we made tons of money then it wouldn´t matter but we don´t as we have quite high taxes on salary also. Evo prices went down for this year for 5000 EUR. Base price for 8 was 56 900. How about that? Sti still costs 56 900.

Think I go to professional tuner to get my car done. Don´t have enough experience or time to do it myself.

Sorry being totally off topic from the topic.
