Automatic Transmission

Can anyone with an automatic transmission pull a rom off of an 04 or 05 ECU? There are a few things that I would like to compare between the two images.

Question about AT...
Is there any electrical way to let the ECU think we switch from MT to AT, in order to map-switch without altering the ROM code...?
I noticed some AT maps (like boost for instance) have very low resolution in MT ECU, but I think we still can do something nice with those...

I am pretty sure you can use an ECU for an AT in a MT car. I know earlier versions of the AccessPort did this. Maybe for the reason you mentioned.
I think it should 'just work'- I guess the proof would be to flash an image from an AT ecu onto a MT ecu and see what happens.
