CEL Fixes Issues

CEL Fixes Issues

Postby west_minist » Sat Aug 19, 2006 3:24 pm

I have tried resolving cel fixes for this JDM model, since Enginuity does not support it in its Cel Fixes.

So going to http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/ ... onicCELFix , I have learn how to do it, but the problem is, I cannot get P0037 fix. Doing so, cause others codes to come up.

The instructions state that 03 or 04 should appear in the 00 column, which my own did, but to no avail.

Is there another method? Am I doing something wrong?

I also notice that but searching for some of the other codes, some did not come up.

lol.

It does not make a diff if I post the rom, where the stock one is on here already.

There are multiple entries, but having the correct offset determines which column have the 03.

A offset of 028CE produces the correct column where 03 starts @ 028D2 and 0824E where 03 is @ 08252.

I made the change @ the first one with issues. I never set the last one.

Having different offset produces the correct format in the right column, but @ different addresses.

The one here http://forums.openecu.org/download.php?id=285, posted by MichealWRX on this same JDM 2001-2002.

You don't have to worry about getting everything lined up in the hex editor. It is pretty obvious where the cel codes. Below is the screenshot of the p0037 code. You just need to replace the 0x040037 with 0x050000. You can see some other codes like p0031, p0032 and some codes that Subaru disabled with 0x050000.

The last time I changed all 03 00 37, the car would not start :)

I do not understand. The code was OBD-II. Not Subaru code.

What does P0037 mean? Is it OBD or Subaru?

That would mean if there is a large collect of codes in an area, then that is the area?

That would then mean that subaru codes are listed like ODB-II, except using 04 @ the front

You do not change ALL the 0x0037, just the one listed above. The cel codes are all in the same area and are always near the end of the rom (16bit). If you change all instances of the 0x0037 then you are changing programming logic and other data that has nothing to do with cel codes which is probably why your car ran funny. Supposedly, the 03/04 preceding the cel codes indicates whether it is a Subaru specific or OBDII generic code but I haven't found that to be the case as the JDM seem to reverse these codes on certain cels.

Change the 0x040037 shown in the screenshot above to 0x050000 in that particular location and only that location.

Thanks tea cup. I was frustrated w/ finding it and other issues.

The code only showed up once, the guy have his JDM wrx engine pull for a clutch change and now he has Cam Position Sensor issues.
