ROM of stock '04 Wagon

Just ripped the ROM from my '04 wrx Wagon, ECU AH792.
I am the second owner, and the previous owner assured me it was stock. I think he was telling the truth, but I really have no way of knowing. Based on the fact that it seems to be as jerky as everyone else's wrx, I assume that this really is the stock ECU image and has not been remapped

I followed Colby's file naming convention.

Just glancing at the hex of the file, doesn't 000293F0 kind of look like some kind of map? I see about 4 or 5 locations in the file that have a series of varying length repeating values.. I don't know, but I would guess they are maps of some kind.

I'm afraid that I do not even know where to look on an WRX. Do you have a link to a post that describes the location?
Is it behind a panel on the driver or passenger footwell area, in the middle? I think this is where it is on my Talon.. not sure if this is standard or not.

it's behind the passenger footwell carpet. there are a couple of plastic carpet shoulder screws to remove, and then a metal cover plate. below that is the ECU case with a model number on it.

I tried to have a look but I can't get the screws in the metal cover to budge with a screwdriver. Maybe if I had a bigger phillips bit.. but I'll just use a socket when I get home.

For anyone else about to check this - there are three plastic carpet screws that are visible along the edge of the carpet, and these all need to come out. You can just use your fingers to unscrew them. The metal shield is right under there after you pull the carpet back.

yeah, that's what I would use, those screws aren't too robust.
