** URGENT ROM REQUEST ** A2WC500C - MY05 LGT AUTO

Postby ev8siv3 » Mon Jun 12, 2006 1:12 pm

In my haste I forgot to SAVE my friends LGT base ROM before we flashed a newer version over it. I only have the 500N file and it threw the "Neutral Safety Switch" CEL. I tried using the 510C however it ran very rough (probably due to the ETC mismatch).

So if ANYONE out there has the MY05 500C Auto ROM i'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

how would I get my ETC ROM from a 510C to fix your ETC mismatch issues?

couldnt you just take a 500N rom, disable the neutral safety switch CEL, and flash that?

Yes, but I'd like to get him running his default ROM for now. He's going to go into Subaru and get the latest update when he gets home. As far as the ETC ROM, I know it's readable since Colby has been able to dump them, but I"m not sure the process to dump. I believe it's not writeable at this time though.

no, the 521C, 510C and 500C all have another hidden (to us atleast) component... the electronic throttle control (ETC) rom, which apparently differs by ECU rom version.

*UPdate* I was able to run a 510C map with no problems after fixing the checksum. Runs great!

You never mentioned checksum problems earlier.

BTW, the failsafe for a P0605 - INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE READ ONLY MEMORY (ROM) ERROR is to kill the current to the ETC motor, which means it stays at a fixed 6° opening angle.
