Tuning of a US AUTO WRX 01/02 - AF426 - A4SGE01C

I have started tuning a 2002 Automatic 4EAT WRX.

The owner will have to take care of the wrx boost restrictions present to him for more boost.

If any one hows how to do this with the parts, please post in a reference thread with a link here, since it seems that JDM versions do not have these restrictions, but I will need to confirm that here.

So boost still runs stock, but the torque curve is broader and hp is up.

I have ask the owner for stock and cobb stg 1 dynoes for comparison.

The maps are the same as the Manual tune going on in another thread.

Since the boost is not going over 15psi, I have set the boost maps and future wg maps for that boost in v1-1, just in case the boost problem is fix in unless wg controls

The Flywheel graph above is wrong.

Tranny loss was the same as an manual.

Subaru 4EAT drive train losses range from 30-35%, so some sites state.

Monday 12th re-edit:
I have found some info that the losses could be 30%, which is comparable to stock models between a Manual and auto.

So I have reposted the graph above w/ 30% loss.

Is this ECUPancakes from your other thread? Is the car not reaching the desired boost? What are you looking for as far as peak boost goes?

I think the aim in all is to reach 17+psi.

If the turbo is upgraded, to reach 18+psi and so.

I have seens stock and vf22 sotck wrx doing more horse power and psi, but be restricted to 14 max psi is not good :) Well, at least for me.

I driven JDM models that reach 14.2psi and that was more peak than everage and it was still a slow car. So I know how a non jdm really feel, because we have them here. So for me, even 17psi would be good to attained.

Do you have any advice for future people on sorting this out?

Something I want to point out. DD Road Dyno has gear ratio calculations that it takes into affect to properly calculate the power of a car. The gear ratios of a manual are not the same as the automatic. You'll need to find the gear ratios (if even available) of the auto and put them into the custom gear ratios values... otherwise you're numbers will be off all the time.

That has been done.

I have an auto too.

So far, the auto's I found on the usa sites have the ratios and matches up with this auto.

I must point out that the dyno run was done in 2nd gear, not 3rd. Ideally, I would like to test it in 3rd. It is just hard to do with a 4EAT since there is no way to start off in 3rd.

I have a feeling the numbers will be slightly up in 3rd gear.

I am tuning another auto right now up north and the response is way different. Its like night and day.

We are looking to see what changes in the rom is affecting the response.
