Succesful ECU flash!

Succesful ECU flash!

Postby 05GarnetLGT » Sun Jun 04, 2006 8:19 pm

I do believe I am the first person to use the ecuflash tools to flash a USDM MY05 LGT, but the map I flashed has something wrong.
worked flawlessly, impressed my friends, etc.

Congratulations! I have been waiting for this good news. Would you mind sharing the steps to read off the ROM, as well as flash the ROM?

I have Australian spec MY05 2.0GT, and keen to try reading off the ROM for study. Am unsure if the ECU hardware is the same as USDM or not.

BTW, which OBD cable are you using? I wonder if the Tactrix 1.0G can be used to read off the ROM or not. As I understand it, for flashing the 1.2 or 1.3M cable is required.

Thanks.

thanks, I am using the 1.2 cable.
reading the rom was simple, just connect the green test connectors in the passenger footwell, turn ignition to run, then open ecuflash and read from ECU

Incidentally, the green flash connectors are near the passenger's left foot, just under the top of the carpet, no need to take apart the entire footwell (like I did).

by the way, if you are reading your rom and your temp gauge goes to max, that is normal.

it also seems like reading the stock rom, flashing back to stock makes the first startup really hard. like 3 or 4 cranks to get it to turn over.
strangely enough the modded rom with an incorrect checksum fired right up.

any ideas why that is?
