Just tried to read ecu on a 2004 Forester XT. Hooked up the green connectors and read ecu using ecuflash. Now the car runs terrible, wont idle once engine is warm and wont accelerate like it should.

My question is, what happens during the inital "read ecu"? My understanding was it doesnt flash or write to ecu. I'm wondering now if it overwrote my base map?

1 - check that the green connector is disconnected currently
2 - ecu learning values are wiped when ecuFlash kernel was loaded

I figured out what my problem was. I didnt uninstall AP map prior to reading ecu with ECUflash.

Uninstalled AP, running OS map now.
