Anyone want to critique this map I put together? I used a couple different maps and took values off a couple of them, in attempt to make a stage one map for an 04 WRX, Please note the Boost fuel cut, I didn't like the number in one of the maps so much, so I went for the higher values in another map.

Looks exactly like the Stage 1 c0bb map I posted on enginuity copied to a 520F. What if any did you do to make it different?

The only real difference is the boost fuel cut IIRC, the one on the stage one map I used, was much lower, I wanted it to be a little higher, just in case, I hit fuel cut once before when the line to my boost controller fell off, and I don't think I want to ever hit it again.

Anyways, I'm new to this, so that's pretty much all I did at this point, I'm under the impression I couldn't just use the 05 map in my 04, so I copied values to an 04 map. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I deleted the map, in further review, I'd rather be more comfortable with the engine, software and such before I post more roms. IIRC this map have very little changed on it anyways, probably not even worth posting, but hey I learned quite a bit.

The fuel cut is there to protect your motor from extreme over-boost. i personally wouldn't set it more than 3 psi higher than your target boost.

Yeah it's in the range, more or less I changed it, to give myself some room just in case, if it started to overboost then I'd just let off the gas, and make some checks and changes. Really I didn't expect it to anyways, I figure I'm smart enough to lift if the boost goes too high, an rather not have the car pull fuel and det. the engine. I knew I was over boosting when the hose came off, right away, I just pushed it and learned my lesson, I'm sure nothing bad happened to my car because of it, I'd just rather not do that again.

Either way good point and point taken thank you. 8)

Deleted maps

Postby m1borromeo » Tue Jun 13, 2006 3:19 am

Can someone repost the map/s again on http://www.osecuroms.org. It seems even enginuity is also deleting our maps/posts. Kinda defeats the purpose of these forums. IMO.

On the contrary, I think posting OTS maps (without the consent of the creator) defeats the purpose of a tuning software forum.

Custom maps are available on osecuroms.org for most stages.
