ECUFLASH Issues with 02 Bugeye

ECUFLASH Issues with 02 Bugeye

Postby nurzo » Tue Jun 29, 2010 1:58 am

Gents,

My car has been sitting for a week with new motor and I am not having any luck with Openport 2.
I seem to make all the right connections and have a suitable base map but am getting nowhere as I do not get the prompt to read or write to ecu.
I am guessing this is because the factory ecu is unlocked perhaps? I bought the car new and it up til now has only had small mods like new turbo and unichip etc. It has been dynotuned a couple of times in the past.
Do I need to add a licensing key for the openport or for the oem ecu perhaps?
I have no reason to want to read the current form as I have added new injectors etc.
Can someone please offer some advice here as I am getting no where fast.
Thank you,

Mark

your drivers are probably not installed
your problem has nothing to do with the car
make sure the open port is identified in the bottom right corner of the ecuflash screen

it has a piggyback computer installed. Could this be causing the issue or being able to reflash?

I have got rid of the piggy back computer which I am told would be holding me out but still to no avail.
In the bottom right hand side of the program I constantly get "no vehicle interface".
I have put in a new battery and have it giving out 13.5v.
I have tried differing computers with xp and vista and still nothing.
I have downloaded the programs a few times after uninstalling. I have even just tried the beta software.
when I install the program the drivers install ok at the end of the program.
the thing is though when I uninstall the program and plug into the car I computers never recognise they are plugged into anything external.
I have tried to change the cable. No difference. I can only think the openport 2.0 cable is DOA. Is this possible?
