legacy 2.0 gl 1995

Postby taiajam » Wed Aug 27, 2008 9:27 am

2day i wanted to tune a legacy 2.0 gl 1995.

1: is it supported by the ecuflash software?

Iopened the ecu, and realized the ecu does not have an eprom.

2: is there a daughtyerboard available fot the ecu so it can fit an eprom

(just like a Nissan SR20DET engine + ECU witch needs an external daugtherboard to support the eproms.)

here are the pics of the ecu.

The person at http://www.ECUtune.com has developed daughter boards for the ECU in the SVX, which is also a JECS ECU. Maybe he can guide you in the right direction.

thanks!
ill send him an email and wait for a reply.

meanwhile..

the 1st Q is still unanswered..
does the ECUflash support the legacy 2.0 GL (from europe)?

and if it does.. I need the stock bin/rom file from the ecu so I can remap the fuel and ign maps.

is there a way to download it from the ecu?
somebody got the stock bin/rom file?

Right now EcuFlash supports only Denso ECUs.

Is it posible to use another ecu (which is supported by the ecuflash software) for the legacy 2.0 GL?
the wireharnass uses 3 yellow connectors

From the circuit boards on their website, it looks like they are using the standard sockets on the older style impreza ECU's.

I guess the first step would be to get an old ecu with the socket, trace out where they connect and then with your ecu trace out where they lead.. maybe out of sheer luck you can recreate a socket?

The ecu board on that website look like they are designed for the older style JECS ecu that have chip sockets. The older style ecu's used 27C1028 chips that you could program an external tune (i have a few of these 27C1028 chips still and have written a few tunes for various applications).

You're ecu looks like the newer style JECS board that does not include the chip socket, so you will need to either start tracing the pads on the board to see where they go. Comparing those traces with an older style ecu might reveal that you can rebuild a socket of some sort (i believe you can as MINES and a few other Japanese tuning houses use boards in this way).
