Reading and writing to USDM STI ?

Postby tuning g » Sat Sep 30, 2006 5:43 pm

How do you write to the STI's do you read with ecuflash edit with enginuety and write it back with ecu flash ?

After reading the ecu no options came up on the screen of ecuflash just misc & checksum but when i used enginuety to open it all options opened and gave me full adjustability but enginuety dosn't give the option to write the edited map back to the ecu so i tried to save it with (.hex) and write it with ecuflash it works but the car goes into a limp mode and the cruse control & check engine light flashes and the car dosn't rev out but if i load back the same stock rom afterwards it works fine just as stock can someone please help me out

THANKS

You need to apply the checksum fix in Enginuity. It is at the top of all the tables labeled "checksum fix". Click on it and then click on 'enable'. Then save your rom. Open it in Ecuflash and flash.

merchgod, does this apply (the checksum fix) to EDM MY04 STi's also or only to the 32-bit ECUs?

No checksum issue for the EDM '04 (16 bit) models

There's no checksum issue for your rom - I was assuming you had a 32bit ecu, which you don't.

What is your ecu revision?

That ECU requires the checksum to be fixed.

Ok, I misread Crispyduck's post as yours. Yes, the A2ZJ700J needs the checksum fix. Follow the directions I posted before.

EcuFlash 1.29 now has definitions for many Subarus, so you can just edit inside of EcuFlash.
