Target boost

Postby 06rexwagon » Tue Aug 29, 2006 7:14 am

I have a question about target boost at low rpm/throttle. Stock ROMs show vacuum in those cells, but some tuners tune them to 5 or 10psi. I assume this is to keep the wastegate shut and quicken spool. My question is, since this keeps the wastegate shut during crusing, will my wastegate solenoid eventually wear out sooner?

the wastegate will only remain closed if needed.

the wastegate table shows the MAXimum wastegate duty cycle.

If your cruising, solenoid stays closed to open up wastegate.

if you want boost sooner, and only modify the boost target, you still will not get it becuase there is not enough flow... you also need to max out the wastegate also...

to get it up fast without having to loose on fuel economy,

max out the low RPM Max wastegate rows and max out the 90-100 throttle columns.

If you have a race care, you might also max out a few more columns to get your boost even faster but this can become a bit violent for daily drivers ;)
