Controlling Boost

Postby xolosis » Sat Aug 12, 2006 7:09 pm

I've got a larger 440HP Turbo with 15psi Actuator and Perrin EBCS 3 Port boost solenoid. I have a problem controlling boost and am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

My boost map (Target Boost D) shows 15.82psi but when I go WOT it spikes beyond 20psi hitting fuel cut. This only started occuring after the EBCS and Turbo went on. And my guess is its one of the Wastegate maps that I need to ajust to accommodate.

Can some give my insight on what I need to log for in EcuExplorer and which Boost/Wastgate map needs ajusting?

Cheers!

yeah, you need to tweak your turbo dynamics and initial wastegate duty cycle maps.
cut the WGDC maps down... alot!
and if that doesnt solve it, fool around with the proportional map until you get the overshoot handled

Well something is up as now I can reach my boost target with 78% Duty and Perrin EBCS.

UTEC can hit 18psi all day everyday so something is not right?

Any thoughts?
